The CPI(M) has decided not to partake in the inauguration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, slated for January 22. Senior CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat stated that while her party respects religious beliefs, it opposes the alleged politicization of the religious event.
Karat criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of intertwining religion with politics and asserting that such a connection is not appropriate.
In response to the upcoming Ram Temple consecration, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal expressed his disapproval, labeling the entire matter as a "show-off" by the BJP. Sibal stated that he carries Lord Ram in his heart and does not need to display it outwardly.
He further remarked that the saffron party does the opposite of what the principles of Lord Ram teach. Meanwhile, preparations for the ceremony are underway in Ayodhya, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructing the state's chief secretary to decorate the city attractively with colors, lights, and flowers along the main routes.
